WORKSHOPS FOR 2016JANUARY 23, 2016
In the coming year of 2016, EQUIVITA is rolling out a monthly calendar of workshops on various topics. Get a sneak peek at the first few months below. The first of which will be Saturday, 1/23! January: Keep Your Knees: Biomechanics Simplified to Reduce Joint Wear with Adam February: Couples Massage with Erika and Cheryl March: Restorative Yoga with Carla April: Fitness and High Heels with Christopher May: Why Pain Continues to Return with Jim ‣ cardio ‣ resistance ‣ flexibility ‣ rest ‣ nutrition I have worked in the fitness industry for over 20 years, and had been around it for many years before I started working in it. In that time, I have seen many people change, many not and some change and then revert back to where they started. The fact is that fitness is hard because all of the benefits only come through consistency. For the consistency that is required, just making it to the gym is not enough. To realize success, you have to consistently follow a plan that was designed for you to specifically achieve your goals. The successful program development should be created at a time when you can actually devote some planning time. Much like other areas of your life that need schedules and lists, your fitness program should have as many specifics as is necessary to ensure that you are making the most of the time that you spend. Going to the gym and doing 'a little of this' and 'a little of that', spending time walking around or socializing is simply not going to get you the physical results. Your planning needs to be specific and detailed, but it doesn't need to be complicated. For your fitness, there are five categories - I call them Keys - that you need to pay attention to: Resistance Training, Cardio Exercise, Flexibility Training, Nutrition and Rest. Each of these keys has specific requirements dependent on your body and your goals for your body. In the Five Key Fitness Workshop, you will learn the specific parameters that must be met within each key and how to build your fitness lifestyle through small, progressive steps. Keep it simple. Determine where you are, where you wan to be and what steps you need to take to get there. Then you put these action items into your life by adding two small changes at a time. If your program doesn't fit with your life, then it is less likely to last. Lasting change happens with small steps. The Five Keys Workshop will provide you with an understanding of the Five Keys, guide you through developing your own program, and provide you with the tools to design your own fitness lifestyle, regardless of your fitness level or experience. When: A Saturday in the Summer Where: EQUIVITA Time: 10 am - 2 pm Other: Lunch will be provided by the EQUIVITA Cafe. Cost: $60. Registration deadline Early bird registration $45 Space is limited.
