Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient Chinese exercise or art for the harmony of mind and body
(and nature). It is a system of meditation, physical coordination, health, self-defense
and consciousness raising. It is of extreme value for attaining longevity, eliminating
tension, increasing physical, spiritual and mental wellbeing as well as an effective
means of self-defense.
The class will consist of learning the fundamental stances and parts of the form of the
Yang branch of Tai Chi Chuan (which is a slow, relaxing, graceful series of movements
based on animal behavior.
Ro-z Mendelson has been teaching since 1975. He teaches Tai Chi, Pa Kua (BaQua),
Hsing-I, Taoist Meditation and numerous other forms of Chi Kung (Qigong) that were
taught to him by his first teacher Dr Fred Wu . He has learned other forms of Tai Chi &
Qigong from several teachers and is presently studying with Master Zhongxian Wu. Ro-
z is a licensed massage therapist.
