Administrative
Mary Binion,
The day after retiring 30 years as an educator- first as a preschool teacher of
students with multiple disabilities and then as director of a statewide center
for parents and educators of students with disabilities, Mary began a new career
managing EquiVita in 2006. No stranger to EquiVita, Mary first came to EquiVita
in 2001 when a friend purchased her a massage for relaxation prior to surgery
for cancer. Surgery behind her, Mary had her 5Keys Fitness Assessment and found
her fitness home. She continues as a client, challenging herself and changing
goals from just wanting a 6-pack on her 50th birthday (Adam’s vision had to do
with the body – hers had to do with something to drink), to running a marathon
(mission accomplished). As an employee, Mary feels that her life has always been
about making a difference. Before retirement, it was with parents and educators
of children with disabilities and through her volunteer work in the field of
rehabilitation engineering and assistive technologies. At EquiVita, it’s about
people who want to take charge of their health and well being. She loves the
clients, the staff and the work and helping others to find the difference that
EquiVIta can make in their lives.
