Initial Fitness Assessment

The unique EQUIVITA approach to a Fitness Assessment begins with a comprehensive evaluation of your
current state of posture, biomechanics, flexibility, circumferential measurements, and exercise history.
During this 2-hour (When was the last time you spent 2 hours with a health professional for your
preventative health?) assessment we will teach you about the five keys of fitness and help you to decide
which areas you want to emphasize. Your body’s muscle and bone structure do affect how and what
exercises you should do, and we will help you to learn about what’s best for you. When you are finished,
you will leave with an exercise plan that you understand. We will teach you about your body’s needs and
what will work for you, based on the
five keys of fitness.

We combine the results of this process with your vision of the 'healthy you' that you want to target. From
this foundation, we can customize a program that will maximize the efforts directed to reaching individual
goals while reducing risk of injury.

For this comprehensive initial assessment we ask that you plan for 2 hours of time and be familiar with the
recommended  guidelines.  The cost of the initial assessment is $150 and does not require that you sign-
up for other EQUIVITA services.  


Transitional Fitness Training

At our core, the staff of EQUIVITA believes you can always increase your fitness level. Transitional Fitness
is a model that incorporates a variety of methods to create an environment that allows your body to
change. Typical fitness approaches apply a pre-determined plan to your body with the goal of forcing your
body to change. Unfortunately, the results from the forced approach are minimal and not lasting. The goal
of Transitional Fitness is to work with you and your body to find the balance.

Transitional Fitness starts with your body as it is and develops a plan for where you want to be. Personal
Training takes a balanced exercise plan and applies it to your body. A balanced plan applied to an
imbalanced body will create a more imbalanced body. Transitional Fitness Training is different.

Effective vs. Efficient

The body’s goal is efficiency, but efficient exercise means less calories burned. That is why we say that
the benefit is not in what you do but how you do it.  It is possible to have powerful impacts from little
exercise – the trick is finding the right exercise.

With the knowledge from the assessment, you and your Transitional Fitness Trainer will develop an
exercise plan that makes sense. Your plan will be designed for your goals and tailored to your life. The
typical challenges to fitness will be addressed and by maintaining the focus on what is right for you, you
will have a plan to better avoid these hindrances.
